Today I reveal my weekly NFL power rankings heading into week 10 of the season. I will take into account everything I know about these teams, and give heavy consideration to what was displayed on the field so far this season. This gives an accurate assessment of where teams are at in my opinion.
This Week's Rankings
1. New England Patriots
The Pats are the best team in the NFL and the most consistent. Will the lost of Dion Lewis hurt them? Probably not.
2. Cincinnati Bengals
So much for the idea they can't play well in prime time. This is a different Bengals team in so many ways.
3. Carolina Panthers
They have a two-game lead in the NFC with half the season left to play and own wins over Seattle and Green Bay. No matter what it takes, they are winning games on both sides of the ball.
4. Minnesota Vikings
They are 6-2 and tied for the division lead. They don't win pretty, but they find a way. The injury to Teddy Bridgewater concerns me because its his head. But they got AP, they will be fine.
5. Denver Broncos
The Broncos looked bad in Indy. Peyton threw another bad interception and the running game was hampered with a hurt Ronnie Hillman. That defense can't afford to have a bad week.
6. Arizona Cardinals
They come off the bye with a huge game this week against the Seahawks. If they can win that one, they will have a real command of the division.
7. Seattle Seahawks
We will know if they are back if they can beat the Cardinals and make it a division race. That defense is starting to look better.
8. Green Bay Packers
Finally they decided to bench Eddie Lacey. He looks bad. No shame in losing to back to back undefeated teams on the road.
9. Oakland Raiders
At .500, they are still in the playoff race at the halfway point. Derek Carr is really playing well and I like this trend to continue
10. St. Louis Rams
With Todd Gurley they are never out of game. But Nick Foles has to play better. Tough lost to a good Vikings team though.
11. New York Jets
At. 5-3, they have a chance to take a real lead in the AFC wild-card race if they can beat the Bills Thursday night.
12. Philadelphia Eagles
They got the offense going against Dallas, and it might be time for them to make a big push. It's starting to look like the offense we expected to see.
13. Pittsburgh Steelers
Losing Ben Roethlisberger for any length of time could end their playoff hopes. Their schedule is brutal the next five weeks and DeAngelo has to be healthy as well.
14. New York Giants
They are atop the division, but they have some tough games left, starting this week with the Patriots. That defense is horrible, but JPP may help them get some pressure on Brady.
15. Buffalo Bills
They face a tough turnaround with a key division game Thursday on the road against the Jets. It's a show-me game for Rex Ryan against his former team.
16. Indiannapolis Colts
It's a shame Andrew Luck may be gone for the net several weeks with a bad injury. The change in offensive coordinators seemed to pay off in a big way. Its Hasselback's show again.
17. Atlanta Falcons
They have fallen on some tough times losing three of their last four games. Which is the real Falcons team, this one or the one that started 5-0?
18. New Orleans Saints
That offense can score with anybody. But the defense is pathetic. How much longer can they go with Rob Ryan?
19. Chicago Bears
They're competing, but that's not enough. The staff has done a great job with Jay Cutler. They have to keep him moving forward.
20. Miami Dolphins
The Dan Campbell era has come crashing down to reality. They look like they're in for a long second half.
21. Washington Redskins
Kirk Cousins still can't string two good games together and what the hell has happened to Alfred Morris? Why not give RG3 another chance?
22. Jacksonville Jaguars
They just can't find a way to win a road game but they compete hard. At some point, they have to get past that hurdle with one this week in Baltimore.
23. Houston Texans
At 3-5, they are a half game out of the division lead. But they have a tough one Monday night at Cincinnati.
24. Tampa Bay Bucs
They are making progress and Jameis Winston isn't turning the ball over. That's a good sign for next season.
25. Kansas City Chiefs
They went into their bye on a little bit of a roll. Can they keep it up and become a factor starting with Denver this week? Nope.
26. Tennessee Titans
They beat the Saints and Marcus Mariota looked good doing so. Mike Mularkey is 1-0. Maybe the change meant something.
27. Dallas Cowboys
They need to beat Tampa Bay this week just to get it going before Tony Romo returns next week.
28. Baltimore Ravens
They come off their bye in bad need of a couple of victories to make a run. It's not impossible. A lot of home games left on the schedule.
29. San Francisco 49ers
The Blaine Gabbert era began with a victory. How long can it last?
30. San Diego Chargers
They've lost a lot of tough games, but now it looks like it's on to 2016. They've had way too many injuries. 5 straight losses.
31. Cleveland Browns
Just play Johnny Manziel. The season is over, so why not find out what he can do?
32. Detroit Lions
This season has gone bad quickly. Now the front office has been blown out, which is needed. Next up, the coaches.
