Today I reveal my weekly NFL power rankings heading into week 4 of the season. I will take into account everything I know about these teams, and give heavy consideration to what was displayed on the field so far this season. This gives an accurate assessment of where teams are at in my opinion.
This Week's Rankings
1. New England Patriots
The Patriots are looking to blow everybody out and that makes them the most dangerous team in the league.
2. Green Bay Packers
As long as Aaron Rodgers is chucking it around like he did against the Chiefs, how do you stop that offense?
3. Denver Broncos
That defense could end up being special.
4. Arizona Cardinals
They are playing as well as any team in the league right now. The defense dominated against the 49ers with two picks for scores.
5. Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals are playing as well as any team in the league right now. Andy Dalton has never been better.
6. Atlanta Falcons
Who had this team off to a 3-0 start? Big credit has to go to coach Dan Quinn and quarterback Matt Ryan.
7. Carolina Panthers - 8 last week
Cam Newton is playing at a high level right now and the defense is making big plays when it matters.
8. Buffalo Bills - 11 last week
They went to Miami and showed they will be a factor in the AFC East. That defense was dominant for much of the game
9. Pittsburgh Steelers - 7 last week
Playing without Big Ben will be a major challenge. Can Michael Vick get it done?
10. Seattle Seahawks - 16 last week
Getting back home helped get this team back on track. Getting Kam back helped the defense get a shutout
11. Minnesota Vikings - 20 last week
With Adrian Peterson back to his old ways, they will be tough to stop. They do face a tough trip this week to San Diego
12. Dallas Cowboys - 9 last week
They have had too many injuries to overcome. Not just Tony Romo and Dez Bryant, either. The defensive line was a mess against the Falcons.
13. New York Jets - 10 last week
They looked like a much different team against the Eagles than they did against the Colts. Who are they?
14. Oakland Raiders - 15 last week
At 2-1, Jack Del Rio has this team playing well. Derek Carr has really improved.
15. Kansas City Chiefs - 12 last week
They have a short week coming off the Packers loss to get ready for the Bengals. That won't be easy.
16. St. Louis Rams - 14 last week
At 1-2, their start has to be considered disappointing. They just aren't good enough on offense. Now they face a tough division game at Arizona.
17. San Diego Chargers
They are 1-2 after two tough road losses to good teams. The offensive line isn't playing well right now.
18. Tennessee Titans - 22 last week
The fourth-quarter collapse will be tough to overcome. The Colts game is one that could have set them up to take the next step.
19. New York Giants - 25 last week
After beating the Redskins last Thursday, they face a stiff road test at Buffalo. The offense will be challenged by that Bills defense.
20. Philadelphia Eagles - 27 last week
They did a nice job bouncing back on the road against the Jets. The offense still doesn't look right, though.
22. Indiannapolis Colts - 28 last week
That was a huge fourth-quarter comeback at Tennessee. That might quiet the Andrew Luck critics for a bit
21. Miami Dolphins - 18 last week
That front 7 needs to play alot better for all the money they are being paid. I expect more from them. They didn't even show up against the Bills.
23. Cleveland Browns - 21 last week
It was back to Josh McCown, and they still lost. How many losses before it's back to Johnny Manziel?
24. Houston Texans - 31 last week
At 1-2, they're tied for first place. But they have to get that offense going. It won't be easy in Atlanta.
25. Baltimore Ravens
They play a huge division game with the rival Steelers on Thursday. A loss there and they might not be able to recover.
26. Tampa Bay Bucs - 23 last week
You can see Jameis Winston is making strides. Not enough, but some.
27. Jacksonville Jaguars - 24 last week
That was a terrible showing in New England. It shows how far they have to go.
28. Washington Redskins - 13 last week
It was back to reality for Kirk Cousins against the Giants. That's what you get with a journeyman.
29. San Francisco 49ers - 19 last week
Colin Kaepernick was supposed to make strides this season as a passer, and that hasn't happened. The Arizona game was awful for him.
30. Detroit Lions - 29 last week
At 0-3, they are staring 0-4 in the face heading to Seattle. It's not a good start for a supposed Super Bowl contender.
31. New Orleans Saints
They competed without Drew Brees, but they are 0-3 in a division with two 3-0 teams in front of them. That's a big hole.
32. Chicago Bears
It wasn't as bad as many expected in Seattle, but that offense is horrible without playmakers. The defense improved, so there's that.
