DVR Top Five of the Week - 4/11/18
**Please forgive me that this weekly article is being published two days later than normal, as I was out of town in New Orleans and unable to watch every show until I returned. I will try my very best to watch everything and publish next week's article on time, but it will be tough!!!!**
TOP FIVE SHOWS
OF THE LAST WEEK
Rise - NBC
I thought Rise did a great job tackling the issue of peer pressure that many students face everyday. It's like kids are boxed into hanging with certain people and doing certain things or they will be ridicule by their peers. I thought they did a great job from multiple different perspectives showing examples of that pressure kids feel to be accepted. If you have not checked out Rise yet, do yourself a favor and give it a look.
Young Sheldon - CBS
I absolutely love this show and last week's episode where Sheldon was getting bullied by the 6 year old little girl was an excellent example of why this show is fantastic!!
The Last O.G. - TBS
I've been waiting for Tracy Morgan's new show to premiere and it certainly did not disappoint. It was funny, told a great story, and it set up the series direction very well. Tiffany Haddish is great in this role and it's a DVR must.
Designated Survivor - ABC
Man ole man, somebody must've finally read the memo about this show turning into a snoozefest during the first half of the season. It's been really heating up, starting with the death of the First Lady, and the anger and aggression Kirkman has been displaying. The way he demanded they attack with a missile strike at the end was excellent and felt like a real Jack Bauer moment. Really some great storylines on this show now.
THIS WEEK'S NUMBER ONE
Black Lightning - CW
This show has been great from the jump and it turned it up when we found put home girl was dirty and set up Jefferson to get locked up. The whole way that was done and how they slowly went through the steps was excellent and this show continues to impress every week. Can't wait until all three of them gear up and fight together.
